Finally...a blog!

So here we go.

I have thrown the idea of a blog around for several years now, and finally I am doing it! How successful I will be at actually keeping up with it, I don't know!
But a wise wise friend of mine once blogged *COUGH COUGH MISTY SCOTT*  that not everything you do will be awesome, and not to let that stand in the way of accomplishing something.

So this is my something. It may or may not be awesome, but at least I am trying!

Lets start with WHY I have always wanted to write a blog.
When I was in grade school, I went to "Career Day" as either a Mom (Legit with a mini van and all), or a "writer". I remember borrowing my mom's black winter coat (which looked like a trench coat on me), putting my hair up in a bun with a pencil sticking through it, pen and mini notebook in my pocket, and a journal in my arms.

Why a writer? When all the other kids came to school dressed as astronauts and firemen?

Well because that was my dream! Instead of dreaming to be a pop star or super hero, I dreamt of being a stay at home mom, or a writer. (or both!)

When I was in 4th grade, I wrote a short story and my teacher entered it into a state cultural arts contest. My story was chosen 1st place out of all of Grayson county.
I kept writing, I entered the contest year after year and always placed and grew more and more in love with expressing myself through words. As I entered middle school and then high school, I decided to take advanced english classes in hopes of learning to flourish in the creative writing field.

As a Junior in high school I took a photography class along with writing for the school newspaper. It was there that I also discovered a love and passion for photography! My senior year, my photography/newspaper teacher entered one of my published articles and photo into a state UIL contest. I received 3rd place on both! At that time, I still visioned myself writing as my career or even as a hobby.

But then something happened... I grew up! And got busy! It's a strange thing, growing up. As a child I had endless amounts of creativity and could write about everything imaginable. But as an adult, It became a lot more difficult to reach down and grab into my creative side. But I am forcing myself to do this because I LOVE to write! And at this moment in my life, I desperately NEED something that I love.

One thing I have always noticed about blogs, is that there are hundred of mommy blogs, cooking blogs, pet blogs, fitness blogs, vintage decor blogs, the list goes on and on! But there was not a single one that had multiple "niches". Now there is probably some unspoken blog rule about that, but who cares. Im going to write about everythaaanngg!

So here is your forewarning. This blog will be spastic, random, and a peek into my wonderful life!
